Community Engagement & Civic Art

Foot Soldiers Park
As Director of Programs at Foot Soldiers Park, I lead the development and implementation of community-rooted cultural programs that honor Selma’s legacy of activism while catalyzing new opportunities for civic engagement, education, and economic empowerment. My work focuses on building partnerships, curating public events, and advancing initiatives that align with the park’s mission to preserve history and inspire change.

The Black Cherry Tree Project
As the founder of the Black Cherry Tree Project (BCTP), I lead a community-centered initiative that commemorates the 33 documented lynching victims of Jefferson County, Alabama. Through public art, memorial tree plantings, and educational programming, BCTP creates spaces for reflection, healing, and dialogue. My work involves curating collaborative exhibitions, facilitating artist engagement, and developing programming that confronts racial violence while fostering collective remembrance and justice.
